To Liberty

Our Leadership

Pastors & Elders

God has provided our church with pastors and elders as a gift to lead, guide, teach, and protect the church. Below are the men who we have affirmed as pastors and elders according to the Biblical qualifications for this role.

Duane Watt

Lead Pastor/Elder

Pastor Duane trusted Christ in June, 1985. Since that time, he has developed a love for studying, teaching, and preaching the Word of God.  Duane served in the business world for over 30 years before being called to full-time vocational ministry. He loves music and is occasionally involved on the Worship Team through singing and playing the guitar and piano.

Duane serves as Lead Pastor/Elder of Liberty Baptist Church. He and his wife of over 35 years, Lori, have four children and seven grandchildren. Their children are: Michael,  Jenni, Timothy, and Kelsie.

Nathan Gray

Student & Children’s Pastor

Pastor Nathan grew up in Lynchburg, VA in a strong Christian home and trusted Christ as Savior at an early age. He graduated from the Word of Life Bible Institute in August, 2016. He completed his undergraduate from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Religion: Biblical and Theological Studies. Pastor Nathan oversees the Student and Children’s Ministries. He is passionate about teaching the Word of God and leading people to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Nathan and his wife Gillian have been married since 2018. Aside from spending time with his wife, he enjoys a good read, great music, being a connoisseur of fine coffee, playing sports, and spending time with others.

Ky McAteer

Elder

Ky is a 4th generation Floridian and was raised in a Christian home. He asked Christ to save him at the age of 7 and has been involved, to some degree, in ministry ever since. He married Elisabeth, his high school sweetheart, in 1982 and they moved to Clermont in 1985. From that time on their lives have been busy raising children and running the family business. Ky enjoys teaching the adult class at Liberty on Sunday mornings and occasionally playing his trombone.

Don Moody
Elder

Don is a native Floridian that accepted Christ at the age of 11. He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple College and Bible School and graduated in 1962 with a Theology degree. Don began a long-running career leading and directing Rescue Missions beginning in West Virginia, to Jacksonville, FL and eventually as Executive Director of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. He served in that role for 32 years before retiring. After the death of his wife Patricia (married for 52 years!), he married his wife Loretta who serves as one of our church pianists. After retirement from the Rescue Mission, Don served at First Baptist Orlando for 6 years as a Minister on Call. Don has two daughters who live in the Clermont area.
